Company Overview
Big Country Electric Cooperative (BCEC) is a non-profit distribution electric cooperative serving rural communities in twelve West Texas counties: Borden, Fisher, Garza, Haskell, Jones, Kent, Mitchell, Nolan, Scurry, Shackelford, Stonewall, and Throckmorton with approximately 12,500 meters. BCEC has three offices located in Roby, Snyder and Stamford, Texas and currently serves 5,400 members.

Big Country Electric Cooperative is a non-profit organization committed to providing its member-owners with reliable service at a competitive cost while positively impacting our local communities.

History

Big Country Electric Cooperative, Inc. was formed in January 1999 with the consolidation of Midwest Electric Cooperative and Stamford Electric Cooperative. Behind Big Country Electric Cooperative is the history of 73 years of both cooperatives.
