BCEC offers the following payment options:

PAY BY PHONE

PAY USING YOUR SMART PHONE

Load the SmartHub app to pay using your Iphone or Android phone.

ONLINE BILL PAY (E-BILL)

is now available. Residential accounts can pay their Big Country EC electric bill using Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover credit and debit cards and electronic checks. Commercial accounts can pay using electronic checks only.

BANK DRAFT

A monthly draft will be drawn from your bank account with your authorization. Members will continue to receive an invoice with a statement of “Paid by Bank Draft” which will keep the member updated on usage and amount drafted each month. Please contact any one of our offices for an authorization form.

AUTOMATIC CREDIT CARD PAYMENT

With your authorization, BCEC will process your monthly electric bill every month by charging the bill to your credit card. A BCEC monthly invoice will be mailed to inform the member of the kWh usage and credit card charges. You will have several days to review your bill before we process your bill through credit card payment. The invoice will state “Paid by Credit Card”. Please contact any one of our offices to obtain an authorization form for automatic credit card payment.

BUDGET BILLING or AVERAGE BILLING

We offer “variable budget billing” for residential accounts. Variable budget billing uses an actual average for a rolling twelve-month period. Members on fixed incomes or who desire to have an average monthly electric bill for their residential meter could benefit from our Budget Billing option. To qualify for Budget Billing, a member must have purchased electricity from BCEC at the residential meter location for at least 12 months and the account must be current.

PREPAY YOUR WAY

Prepay Your Way is an available prepaid metering option for residential accounts only. The analogy we use to help explain prepaid metering is like that of putting gas in your vehicle: You go to the station and pump in $40, drive until you get low and need to put more gas into the tank. As you drive throughout the week, you pay attention to the gas gauge and maybe even adjust your driving habits to help you conserve your fuel and reduce the number of fill-ups. Prepaid metering works similarly: You pay toward your electric usage and each day the electricity you use depletes the “tank.” You monitor the “tank” by using our handy SmartHub app, where you can see hourly and daily usage from your phone, tablet or computer. When the “tank” gets low, you add more money. Your electricity stays on as long as you maintain a credit balance. Paying for your electricity in this manner allows you to make smaller payments throughout the month and can help with your budgeting. Notifications are sent via email and text (if you choose) so that you are reminded to make a payment when your balance is low. Contact any of our offices for more information.
