If Your Power Goes Out

Our goal is to restore your power as quickly and safely as possible. When an outage occurs, our crews respond as quickly as conditions allow. Once a crew arrives on scene, it will assess the situation, identify the cause of the outage, and begin the repair process.

If your power is out, the first step is to make sure we know about it. Members can report outages through SmartHub or by calling one of our office numbers below.

Please be patient, especially during major weather events. Damage can be widespread, outages may affect large areas, and repairs can be complex. Our crews will always do their utmost to restore power in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.

Use Our Outage Map to Stay Informed

BCEC’s online Outage Map helps members stay informed when outages occur across our system. The map allows you to view current outages, see general restoration progress, and understand what areas may be affected — especially during larger, widespread outage events.

While the Outage Map is a helpful tool for checking outage status and affected areas, members should still report outages through SmartHub or by calling one of our BCEC offices. Reporting your outage helps us confirm your location is affected and supports a more efficient restoration process.

What to Expect During Restoration

Power restoration typically begins with repairs that restore service to the largest number of members first, followed by more localized repairs. In some situations, your neighbor may have power restored before you do, depending on the location and type of damage involved.
